No run today - the right decision?
I decided against the run this morning (despite being up at 6am and with time to do it if I wanted). I just felt it was the wrong time to experiment with running early - if I’m sore tomorrow I’ll be really pissed off.
So I walked all the kids to school and nursery this morning and did a good brisk walk for 20 minutes on the way back. I’ll also take the dog on a long walk tonight to keep in shape ready for tomorrow.
Thomas (my business coach and fellow runner) is going tomorrow too. He is out at a Burns Supper tonight so I think the whisky and haggis may come back on him tomorrow
I think we will both just run our own race. He’ll have a better excuse for a poor performance than me though…
Cheers, Mark
Hey Mark,
Just thought I’d check out your blog before I meet you at the foot of Arthurs Seat for the 5K this morning . . . Burns supper was good last night but I didn’t get to bed until 1am.
I was feeling sluggish until I read your thoughts . . . now I’m up for the challenge!!! No excuses.
See you at the finishing line . . . I’ll be waiting on you with a coffee!!!
TC
Ha - thanks Thomas. Good to see that competitive spirit.
You did really well yesterday. It looked like a breeze for you. Now I know we’ll have a serious competition on our hands come the next race.
Cheers, M
Thanks Mark - your comments are very kind given that I had said I’d be waiting for you at the finishing line with a coffee . . . and in the end, you were waiting on me for at least a couple of minutes and being the gentleman you are, you never said a word!!!
The only advantage in my comments was that I was full of hot air on what was a particularly cold day!
I’ll need to train more and say less, before our next race.
